Conservative Candidate Kidnapped….For Charity

Monday, April 19th, 2010

Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Christopher Pincher, took an hour out from the election campaign trail last Thursday 15th April when he was “kidnapped” by local students from the Prince’s Trust.  The kidnap was all part of a charity day to run by the Trust to raise funds to spruce up the garden outside OAP sheltered accommodation in Bancroft, Glascote.

Mr. Pincher spent an hour held hostage in the team’s offices in Lichfield Street where he was given a cup of tea and a phone by the kidnappers.  To be released he had to raise a ransom from friends and family which will help pay for the garden improvements in Bancroft.

Mr. Pincher hit the phones to win his release and soon raised £101 for the Trust’s funds.

Christopher Pincher said:
“We have been working fourteen hour days since the campaign began so an hour off was a welcome break.  I think I must be one of the few victims who actually looked forward to being kidnapped! The work the Prince’s Trust is doing for Bancroft and generally for young people is fantastic.  It provides help with CVs, skills building, job placements as well as community activities like this one.  Best of luck to them.”
