David Cameron Comes to Tamworth
Conservative Leader Meets Shoppers on Market Day
Conservative Leader David Cameron came to town on Market Day last Tuesday to meet local people and bring his Change message to Tamworth.
With local Conservative candidate, Christopher Pincher, Mr Cameron and his wife Samantha met shoppers in Market Street and George Street during his walkabout. He dropped into the Tamworth Toolbox to talk to owner Derek Niceklls, picked up a “We All Need A Dave” T shirt from a stallholder and kissed his first baby of the election campaign.
Commenting on the visit Christopher Pincher said:
“David told me he had a great afternoon, meeting and talking to real people about their issues and concerns. He told an elderly lady that Conservatives will link pensions to earnings to increase the old age pension and freeze council tax; he promised to put a firm cap on immigration answering a question from a man from Amington and that we would scrap Labour’s National Insurance rise which will destroy jobs.”
“The reception we got was very positive which reflects the feeling I get on the doorstep when I am out canvassing. People are really eager for change and here in Tamworth the only party that can provide that positive change is the Conservatives”
